Fuse was this week, and went off pretty well. I’m happy with most everything except the duck shooting scene. Especially from the front row the ducks went by way too fast and were hard to see. I feel like slowing them down enough to be readable would have made the reel way too long. So if I were to redo it, I would do what I did with the ferris wheel. Having it come at decent speed, followed by slowing it down by an insane amount of speed or just having it stop. C'est la vie, it wasn’t horrible from what I heard from people in more normal seating, so that is good to know. Other than that I am pretty happy with how things went.

The compendium is finally done! This past month has been a constant grind of late nights trying to get as many shots done as possible. Had to slow everything down a lot after the screen test, and also had to find a song. I finally found a good one, but waited till the last second because I wanted to make sure other people were ok with the song choice. Had a lot of constant minor revisions/changes in the end, which was constantly putting me down. Thinking I was super close to being done, but then having more and more minor fixes. The biggest setback, and hit to motivation, was the accidental deletion of most of the balloons section. With that deletion I had to re-make it frame by frame, but thankfully I was using the screen test video as reference so it only took a couple hours. Nonetheless a massive hit to motivation. However even with the setback, stress, and lack of sleep I am very happy that I did the compendium reel and would have done it again.

Didn’t get as much done over spring break as I wanted. However, I was able to finish and update all of the assets to final versions. Also started some ideas for the proxy’s for how the images are going to fit into the cart, duck, and banner. Big thing I updated was the background design for the duck shoot. We also decided to put a target in between the ducks to fill out the space with more details.

It’s been a minute for a production blog. As of now I have gotten all my assets done with a first pass/second pass on some things. More updated proxies also. These past two weeks were difficult, lots of late nights. Hopefully will be more balanced time these next few weeks *fingers crossed*.

This week I started by changing another set from the train car to a duck shooting carnival game, so I got that done. I’ve also started getting some proxies done. I’ve got all 3 of the main proxy’s done

This week was interesting. The theme wasn’t actually a circus, but carnival instead. So I quickly came up with new storyboards to use. I’m now doing a ferris wheel instead of the elephants. I got those new boards done, along with a rough animation of how things are going to move, and how long it’s going to last without the students' work.

This week I worked on rough storyboards and the asset list. Scott Cavanah told me about the program Storyboarder, so that has been really nice to use. I got the storyboard done pretty well. Main thing I got from talking to Brent was to zoom in more on the actual artwork instead of showing the background stuff. Rough asset list was also done.

Week late, but last week I came up with ideas for what to do for the compendium reel. Ideas included cart trolly, elephant train, balloons, fire breathing, and aerial acrobatics.
